Marissa joined White Ribbon Alliance in 2018 and transitioned to her current role as Communications and Advocacy Specialist in 2019 to grow her passion for strategic communications. Marissa contributes to the digital engagement strategy through managing WRA’s social media and supporting the development of communications campaigns.

Prior to joining WRA, Marissa spent three years working in diverse, international non-profits focused on maternal and reproductive health. Most recently, she served as a program coordinator for Save the Mothers in Uganda, supporting their Master of Public Health Leadership Program. She previously served as an intern at Georgetown University’s Institute for Reproductive Health, working on USAID interventions in gender-based violence and family planning taught through community theatre.

Marissa holds a MPH from the University of Edinburgh, and a BSc in biology and Spanish from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
