Marissa joined White Ribbon Alliance in 2018 as the Program and Administrative Associate and transitioned to her current role as Communications and Programs Associate to grow her passion for strategic communications. As the Communications and Programs Associate, Marissa is responsible for managing WRA’s social media, contributing to the digital engagement strategy, and supporting the development of communications campaigns.

Before joining WRA, Marissa spent three years working in diverse, international non-profits focused on maternal and reproductive health. Most recently, she spent a year in Uganda working for Save the Mothers as a program coordinator for their Master of Public Health Leadership Program. She also served as an intern at Georgetown University’s Institute for Reproductive Health, working on USAID interventions in gender-based violence and family planning taught through community theatre.

Marissa holds a MPH from the University of Edinburgh, and a BSc in biology and Spanish from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
