Dr. Masood Ahmed Abbasi a leading public-sector reform expert, with over 27 years of experience in building institutional capacity to improve public sector delivery, monitoring and evaluation. This includes 10 years as a National Level Team Leader and key expert on donor funded international projects; 5 years as Provincial Lead implementing and overseeing donor funded projects; and, 12 years as a civil servant in Pakistan.
Dr. Abbasi achieved a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Health Services Academy, Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad Pakistan in 1999 and Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from University of Sindh in 1988. His career exhibits a good mix of working in the public and private sectors in both humanitarian and development settings. His most recent job was as Nutritionist with the United Nations World Food Program (UN WFP). Dr. Abbasi has experience working with Save the Children, UNICEF and WHO in the areas of Maternal, Newborn, Child Health & Nutrition, Family Planning, Health System Strengthening, Advocacy, and Project Management that includes program development, planning, and implementation. He has worked with Ministry of Health for almost 12 years at district level and has executed primary health care assignments.
