White Ribbon Alliance Malawi records impressive response in Midwives’ Voices Campaign
By Newton Kalua
In Malawi, White Ribbon Alliance (WRA) is leading the What Women Want: Midwives’ Voices, Midwives’ Demands Campaign. A whopping 5,000 midwives across the country responded with their demands within five days.
WRA Malawi is now analyzing the 5,000 responses from midwives across the country. Responses will be used to engage key stakeholders in a series of meetings to ensure stakeholders make informed decisions and take action that will address the specific demands of midwives. Targeted stakeholders include Government of Malawi, Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM), donor partners, business community, and civil society organizations.
Partnering with the with Association of Malawian Midwives (AMAMI) and National Organization of Nurses and Midwives (NONM), WRA Malawi is determined to reach every midwife in the country.
