Pita Putih Indonesia launches guide for mothers and newborn babies during the COVID-19 pandemic
Pita Putih Indonesia/White Ribbon Alliance Indonesia has released a new infographic guide for pregnant women, childbirth, newborns and children to help them keep healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Realizing the need to share evidence-based practical information with women across Indonesia, Pita Putih Indonesia/White Ribbon Alliance Indonesia created A Guide for Pregnant Women, Childbirth, Postpartum/Postnatal, Breastfeeding and Newborn Babies During the COVID-19 Pandemic (in Indonesian) booklet as part of their larger self-care efforts to help women and girls advance their individual needs, aspirations, and abilities to better their own health and lives and that of their families, communities, and countries. The COVID-19 outbreak has made this work even more important.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Pita Putih Indonesia/White Ribbon Alliance Indonesia has dedicated itself to:
- Ensuring that pregnant, childbirth, post-partum, breastfeeding and newborn babies receive proper care.
- Ensuring pregnant women give birth at health facilities, assisted by SOPs established during pandemic.
- Ensuring that pregnant women and families are aware of their rights and responsibilities for health care, getting attention, support and care.
At a recent sharing event in Banten Province, the Pita Putih Indonesia/White Ribbon Alliance Indonesia team demonstrated the importance of taking care of yourself and your baby during the pandemic through a series of hands-on sessions using the booklet at health facilities with visiting mothers.
